CODE OF CONDUCT
Edgcomb members are expected to be respectful and considerate of all members, staff and invited guests at all times. Our rules are designed to ensure common support of our club, its members and its facilities. As members, we strive to uphold the mission of our club and the mutual enjoyment of the game of tennis.
COURT RESERVATIONS
Court time is limited to one and one half hours for singles, or for doubles. Reservations may be made through the online court reservation software, by calling the club, appearing in person at the club, or by emailing the staff at edgcombtennisclub@gmail.com. Reservations for the day will be posted at 7:30 AM the preceding day. Sign-up for a court reservation is limited to the current day and the next day.
PLAYING TIME
Generally, the courts should be able to handle the members’ requirements for play. It is the club’s aim to provide one and one half hours per day of playing time for each family member. If a court is not reserved or a cancellation has occurred, members may use the court even if they have played one and one half hours that day. During peak times of the season, it may be necessary to restrict each member of a family to one and one half hours per day of playing time.
HOURS OF PLAY
The courts are available to members seven days a week. 7:30am to 7:00pm. Please see the court reservations calendar for more information on court closings for maintenance, clinics, and events.
GUESTS
Members may bring guests but the same person may not be a guest more than five times per month. The member must play with the guest or guests. A member may ask the Tennis Director for permission for house guests to play without a member for a maximum of one week. Guests must be registered in the guest book, and members will be charged a fee of $15.00 per day for each guest, preferably paid by cash or check at the time of play.
PLAYING ATTIRE
Players must wear appropriate white tennis attire with collared shirts at all times on the courts. A small amount of colored trimming is acceptable. Regulation white tennis shoes, not cross training or running shoes, are required. Colored sweaters and warm-up jackets should be worn only during the warm-up period. The director of tennis has been instructed by the trustees to enforce the dress code.
CELL PHONES
The audio use of cell phones on club grounds is strictly prohibited except for emergency communications.
